He is definitely the John Jr. in the 1820 census living next to his father, John Sr., in Newberry Co., South Carolina. He is between the age of 26 and 45 as is his wife. They have a son aged 10-16 and a daughter under the age of 10. (C-2087)
John Jr. is listed as such in an 1830 deed in Newberry Co., SC, where he, his wife Dorothy and his father, John Sr. sell 100 acres of land, 28 acres of which were purchased by John Coats in 1797 on Big Beaverdam Creek off the Bush River. All three persons are listed being from "Laurens District" in SC at the time of the sale. (C-2123)
John married Dorothy DOBBINS, daughter of James DOBBINS and Jennet UNKNOWN, before 1811.
