This is probably the Bartholomew who is listed at age 9 living with a Rufus P. and Elizabeth Porter in Raccoon Twp., Gallia Co., OH in the 1860 census along with various children of differing surnames suggesting that the children might be under this family's care, but not necessarily children of same. That or the wife had at least 3 marriages in the last decade.
