bullet  General Notes:

James was married twice, to 2 Sarahs. He highly likely had more sons than the 3 listed here and is also likely to have been born well before 1715 as estimated from the 3 known children's birthdates.

We believe that this James Young, who bought the earliest land in Virginia of these Youngs in 1742 in Borden's Grant was the one who administered his brother, John's estate in 1747 and died in 1755 himself. Whistle Creek is in the southern half of Bordon's Grant and Bordon's Grant adjoined the southwest end of Beverly Grant. It was near the forks of the James River. It is about 20 miles south of where nephews - Hugh, Robert, and James lived on Back Creek starting in 1746 or 1749 respectively.

James purchased 401 acres in 1742 on Whistle Creek and 440 acres nearby on North River in 1747. He lived within a few miles of a William Young whom owned a 100 acres which he purchased in 1756. This William was Sharon Jebavy's ancestor. I believe he is the William who is a brother of Hugh, Robert and James Young of Beverly Manor which was a few miles over the border from the property of William Young. James's neighbors around Whistlestop Creek included at a later date, Charles Boyle, Saml & John McMurtrey, Samuel Todd, John Summers and James Davis.

Because of timing, place and the similarity of names, I believe the following estate administration belongs to this James Young. I believe that James died in 1755 and is in the following 1760 probate records. I believe this because two of the persons who helped administer his estate were the same as in the 1747 estate proceedings Hugh Young, William Shannon, and John Brown. James also would have been of a similar age to John in the above administration.
