CLARK, John ^{1 2 3}

  General Notes:

This John was possibly the John Clark listed in Savage's 1988 New England Ancestry. If so he was born in England around 1612. He was in New Haven in 1639. According to Savage, he might have come in the Elizabeth to Boston from Ipswich in Suffolk Co., 1634 at age 22. If so he was made Clerk of the milit. comp. in Feb. 1648. He achieved the rank of Sergeant.

The name of his wife is possibly Mary. She died in 1649, the same year as he did.

I also have alternate birth and death dates for him at 1610 and 1648. I believe those dates are from THE ANCESTRY OF LORENZO ACKLEY AND EMMA ARABELLA BOSWORTH. I believe this is the same person as in Savages book because all of his children were born in New Haven where John lived in the Ackley book. They were all born before 1648. Lastly, the birth and death dates were quite close. (F-322, p.469) The New England Genealogical Register gives his death date at 1648. His Inventory was dated May 13, 1648. (F-68d)
