Andrej (Andrew) and his son Andrew went to America and settled in McKeesport, PA where they took jobs. Andrew Sr. moved back to what is now the Slovak Republic and was then Austria Hungary and bought land in Vysne Nemesko in Slovakia near the Russian border. One source says he visited America several times after that, but son Jan's son Marek, states that Andrej died shortly after buying the property in Vysne Nemesko. The large piece of property still is in the hands of his descendants (1988 letter). Many of the Slovakians coming to America, followed the same pattern. They were farmers at home who wished to own their own land. They would come to America to work in the mines or the railroads, earn money and then return to their native home to buy land. (D-162)
Dr. Marek Dudick of Slovakia corresponded with Michael Dudick of Leetonia, Ohio in 1988. He stated that his grandfather, Andrew had 4 sons and 1 daughter. The sons were Andrew -d. 1946, McKeesport, PA, Mike, d. abt 1941 in PA, George (Juraj) d. bef 1951 in Nemeckam, Slovakia, and Anna Dudikova who died in Vojnetine, and Jan who died 15 years before that (before 1946 or 1986????) in Vysnon Nemeckum. (D-153, 154) I have theorized that the only Dudik having children in Podicovice, Slovakia in the time period where Andrew was born, is the likely father of this Andrew Dudik, Pavol Dudik.
