 General Notes:
It is conjecture on my part that Pavol is the father of all the children listed. A letter from the Archives at Presove in the Republic of Slovakia lists Pavol as the father of both Andrejs and Maria and Anna in the 1860's. Michael Dudick's family is from Podocovice and has an Andrew as well as other sons in it. Since the name Pavol or Paul is carried down in Michael's family and the timing and place are correct, I believe his family is likely one and the same. (C-162, 187)
According to Mike Dudick of Leestonia, Ohio, the name Dudick was originally spelled Dudik. It originated in Germany. His family lived in Myjava, Western Slovakia in what was then Germany. It changed political boundaries and became part of Austria Hungary. They then spread out into Eastern Slovakia primarily in Pozdisovce, Kosice, and Sobrance. Mike also knows of Dudiks that live in Vysanechonko. (D-153)
I suspect that this family is related to my husband's family as similar names, time periods of immigration, same spelling of the surname and location in PA occur. Pavol's grandson John, lived in Clarion, Pennsylvania. My husband's gr.grandfather Joseph Dudick lived in Clarion Junction, Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania at similar time periods. Joseph could be Pavol's possible son George Joseph Dudik or he could be a John Joseph, and nephew to Pavol????? by age range.
