bullet  General Notes:

George Clark is a probable but not yet proven brother to William C. Clark, also of Mason Co., KY. He seems to appear often in court order book A for that county which do need to be located, in Nov, 1789; Jan. 1790; Feb 1790; and Jun 1790. (CL-471 corresponding to Book A, pages 37 (2 entries), 40, 41, 42, 50, 55, and 75.)
His heirs are listed as Robert Clarke, Solomon, and Ruth and William C. Perrin. Interestingly a Peter Clarke, John Whaley and John Curtis (all hiers of William Clark) are the purchasers of George Clark's land. George's wife in earlier deed records was named Margaret. (CL-385)
George or his likely brother William could also be the father of an Alexander Clarke that marries Sarrah Glenn on 6/30/1797 in Mason Co., KY. (CL-479)
This George is likely the George Clark that was amongst the earliest settlers in Mason County Kentucky. He is on a tax list of persons residing north of Main Licking in the district of Miles Withers Conway Commissioner, in 1787. This district included Mason County, Kentucky in what is now Bourbon Co., KY. Just for interest's sake, the well known Daniel Boone and Simon Kenton, was living in this same tax area. (CL-491)
