Thomas who was the fourth son of James Coats, was an engineer for the world famous thread company. Thomas had a wonderful church erected in his memory at the Townhead of Paisley, Scotland. It was built by his widow and family in 1894 in his honor and was stated to be the grandest nonconformist church in Europe in a periodical article dated 1902. (C-1792, 1793) Thomas married Margaret GLENN. |
