  General Notes:

Lemuel B. is the L.B. (or S.B. in some census interpreations) Coats, age 42 in the 1860 Calloway Co., MO census. He was a merchant. His wife, Elizabeth was age 34, born in Va. His son Hiram R. Coats, age 10, was born in Arkansas which might explain why it has not been found where they married. They had a son James F., age 7, born in MO, and a daughter, L.B., age 3, also born in MO. I think it's entirely possible that Lemeul's name is actually Samuel and that it was misinterpreted from some old handwriting. (C-1874)

Lemuel married Elizabeth MADDOX on 7/6/1849. (Elizabeth MADDOX was born about 1826 in , , VA, USA and died after 1860.)
