This John appears in the DAR records of 1919 that list him as a Private in the Revolutionary War from Halifax Co., VA. He applied for a pension on Nov. 25, 1835 and his residence was Halifax Co., VA at that time. When he enlisted on June 10, 1780, he was a resident of Spottsylvania Co., VA according to his application for pension.

John's children are his children listed in his DAR application by descendant Mrs. Briggs. (C-1995) 3
