He first moved his family to Miller Co., MO in 1835. In 1845 they picked up roots and moved to Johnson Co., MO only to continue on in 1849, when Wilson joined the California Gold Rush. He brought his family with him at a later date from Missouri and established the first ranch in Contra Costa, CA. (C-1386, 1872)
