 General Notes:
This Joseph was born between 1775 and 1779, sometime after his grandfather William wrote his will in 1775 suggesting that he did not yet have any grandchildren. It is conjecture on my part that he is the son of this Joseph Coats, by timing, place and the fact that this is the only Coate family in the area that carries the name Joseph. He also was one of the administrators for his possible father Joseph's estate in 1810.
