Joseph Coates is mentioned as the husband of Elizabeth Coates, sister to William Marr, of Marpoth, Co. Northumberland, England in his will written Aug 23, 1725. William named the "children of" Elizabeth and Joseph in his will without listing them by name. Joseph also supposedly lived on Piney Branch of White Oak Creek in SC as an adult or possibly Orangeburgh Co., South Carolina. One lead suggested that he was buried in Cato Cemetery in SC and that this info is at the South Carolina homepage on the Internet. (C-1715, 1960, 2200)
