  General Notes:

According to Collins, Sarah's maiden name might be Roseborough, like her first grandson's name of John Roseborough. In Liberty Springs Baptist Church in Laurens Co. there is a John Coats with a wife named Sarah. She died on Sep 16, 1873, age 73. This Sarah's death and age coincide with the dates I've been sent for her from other sources, so I'm assuming it was she and her husband John that were in the Liberty Springs Baptist Church in Laurens Co., South Carolina. Sarah married John COATE, son of William COATE and Mary (JONES), about 1820. (John COATE was born on 7/18/1785 in , Newberry, SC, USA ² and died before 1840 of Laurens, SC.)
