He might be the Thomas Coates who was drowned near Orleans, Mass.,Jan. 5 or 6, 1804. He was a seaman on the schooner Farmer, J.P.Schott,master, which sailed from Boston, Dec. 28, 1803, for the West Indies. (C-2146E)
