John PEMBERTON 2 3 4
Brothers, Isaiah, Robert and John came from Newberry SC to Miami Co., Ohio according to the "Annals of Newberry." There parents died when they were young. This is probably the John Pemberton who became very depressed and asked a friend, James Hall, if he should kill himself. The friend, having common sense, suggested that he drown himself in Ludlow Falls and offered to help. John took him up on the offer, was thrown in by his friend, and then when he floated, got over his need to die and lived a good many more years in a depressed state.... This is all according to the "Annals of Newberry." (C-296) John married Drusilla ELLEMAN, daughter of John ELLEMAN and Susannah COPPOCK, in 1810.1 (Drusilla ELLEMAN was born on 11/7/1810 and died after 1826 of Miami, OH.) |
