William JAY 2 3 4
He is listed as the son of John and Betty Jay in his marriages. He and his wife were living in Newton Twp., Miami Co., Ohio in the 1830 census, both between the ages of 40-50. They had 1 son between the ages of 10-15, 2 sons from 15-20 and 2 daughters from 15-20. (C-2560) 1 William married Mary Pearson FURNAS on 7/30/1811.
or Jul 3, 1811. William next married Mary COATE, daughter of Henry COATE and Mary Ann HASKETT, on 4/27/1824. (Mary COATE was born on 6/28/1797 in Bush River M.M., Newberry, SC, USA 5 and died before 1830.)
or Dec. 6, 1820. (C-1534) William next married Rebecca TEAGUE, daughter of Samuel TEAGUE and Rebecca FURNAS, before 1830.1 (Rebecca TEAGUE was born in 1784 and died in 3/1847 of Miami, OH, USA.)
I'm deducing that William and Rebecca married before the 1830 census when Rebecca's age fit's in the between 40-50 bracket, whereas his previous wife would have been in the 30-40 bracket instead. |
