This Francis Hale is interpreted as a sister to Thomas Hale from a relationship implied from a letter by a Francis Kirby to Gov. John WInthrop in 1637 to be delivered by Kirby's "near kinsman", Thomas Hale. The Thomas mentioned (who was the nephew of Francis Hale who wrote the letter) is the son of the Thomas whom this paragraph is written about. (F-466) It could also be interpreted that she was a Kirby before her marriage to a Hale instead.
