SUTTON, John 1
He was the 3rd Lord Dudley who lost much of the family wealth. According to researcher, Leo van de Pas, John Sutton "was a half-wit, nicknamed 'Lord Quondam', who sold much of the family landholdings. His wife, Cicely Grey, so disliked him that she requested to be buried in her own family plot under her maiden name!" 3
John married Cicely GREY, daughter of Marquess Thomas GREY of Dorset 1st and Cicely BONVILLE Baroness Harington and Bonville. (Cicely GREY was born about 1483 and died in 1554 2.) |
