  General Notes:

A handmade booklet on this generation of Tharps says that Mary was declared by jury as insane in 1815. Son, Zadock, was named her guardian. (CL-317a) She probably died shortly after as her son Zadock was the administrator for her estate which he filed on May 28, 1816. The estate papers administered on May 28, 1816 lists her and William's children as William, Joseph, Zedic, Isaac, Esther, Armelia Calhoon, Unica, Kezziah, and Ann. It names one grandson Jesse who was being cared for by Isaac (Zaus).

Mary married William THARP, son of William THARP and Jane AUSTIN, about 1764 in Murderkill Hundred, Kent, DE.¹ (William THARP was born about 1729 in Tuckahoe Hundred, Talbot, MD and died on 4/29/1807 in , Iredell, NC, USA ¹.)

  Marriage Notes:

Bob Tharp's manuscript gives a marriage date of 1766, though this would be after his son Joseph was born in Mar. 1765. (CL-317)
