  General Notes:

She was not in William J's will, (C-169) and though possibly a a child she is more likely a relative of William Jay as her father deeded land to her husband the same time he received a patent of land in North Carolina. They had traveled with William Jay to Casewell County, NC, and lived in the same places, all supporting the belief that Sarah some type of relationship to William's family. (C-1200) Supporting the fact that she is not William's child is the earliest account of the children of William Jay and Mary Vestal. It was taken from an interview of William's son John to his son Eli Jay around 1800 who remembered 7 siblings, their names and birth order. Sarah was not listed amongst them when this information was published in 1848. (C-839)

Sarah married John I(Saac) SATTERFIELD, son of Unknown SATTERFIELD and Unknown. (John I(Saac) SATTERFIELD was born about 1730, died about 1802 in , Person, NC and was buried about 1802 in , Person, NC.)
