He was received into Quaker membership on April 25, 1748 at the Monocacy Monthly Meeting. He and his wife got a certificate to remove to Carver's Creek Monthly Meeting in North Carolina. He received a gift of land from his father in Orange Co., NC in 1752 and a grant from Lord Granville on Nov. 1, 1755. (C-575)
