Henry V ROMAN EMPEROR 1
Henry V, also known as Emperor of Germany, was the Holy Roman Emperor (in 1106) who died leaving his widow, Matilda, to marry an unpopular choice, Geoffrey, Count of Anjou. When Matilda's father died without any other living legitimate children, he had his nobles promise they would recognize her as Queen. (C-330) Henry married Mathilda QUEEN OF ENGLAND, daughter of Henry I KING OF ENGLAND and (Edith) Matilda QUEEN OF ENGLAND, in 1114. (Mathilda QUEEN OF ENGLAND was born on 2/7/1102, died on 9/10/1167 and was buried about 9/13/1167 in Abbey At Bec, Eure, , FRA.) |
