Joan (Joanna) OF ENGLAND 1 2 3
Joan or Joanna was apparently well beloved by her husband, Llewelyn according to a fictionalized account of them in "Falls the Shadow". The fact that she was English, made her unpopular in Wales. Those who were close to her though loved her dearly for her gentle, kind ways. Some of her step sons, Gruffydd, in particular, never liked her because of her English heritage. Joan married Llewelyn "Fawr" IOWERTH Prince Of Wales, son of Iowerth "Drwyndwn" AP OWAIN GWYNEDD and Margaret vz Madog ap Maredudd ap Bleddyn AP CYNFYN, in 1204. (Llewelyn "Fawr" IOWERTH Prince Of Wales was born about 1173 in , Anglesey, Wales, died on 4/11/1240 in Aberconway, Carnarvon, , WLS and was buried in Aberconway, Carnarvon, , WLS 1.) |
