He and wife Susanah had 9 children. They originally were members of the Sadsbury meeting until the Warrington meeting was formed closer to home. Benjamin was an active Quaker member, often assigned to overseeing (supervisory) positions. He was in attendance at the Abel Walekr, Ann Vale marriage on the 13th d, 5m 1773 in Warrington Twp., York Co., PA along with his brother and nephew, William and William Jr. Underwood. Benjamin was in the relatives column... not a parent position, but more like an uncle or cousin relationship. He was taxed for nearly 200 acres of land between 1779-1783. (C-636) Benjamin is probably the Benjamin Underwood in the 1790 census in Warrington, York Co., PA with 1 male over 16, 1 under 16 and 1 female. Most of his children would have left home by that time. (C-578)
