William III VESTAL 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Vickie Leimback said he was married to his cousin, Mary Vestal instead of the spouse I have listed. (C-611) JJay gives his wife's name as Hannah Vestal, his first cousin for which he was disowned by Friends on September 5, 1773. (C-869) Both these refer to a note in Quaker records that state William Vestal was married to his first cousin on 6/7/1773 and disowned on 9/5/1773. In Anderson's book on the Caviness, she lists his wife and first cousin as Sarah Vestal, d. of David and Sarah Chamness Vestal. In some sources, his wife is also called Hannah Potts. By timing and place it is likely to apply to this William. (C-955) Also, Vickie Leimback differs in the death date which she estimated at about 1781 in Berkeley Co., VA.
