  General Notes:

This is where the controversy begins on Mareen Duval's parentage. From "Kentucky Family Records, Vol. II, page 50" which has many errors just about Mareen himself, it lists his father as Thomas Duvall and Thomas's lineage backwards as follows: Lawrence, John, Robert, and Hugh Duvall (who married Adeline in 1298). He does mention Massasoit Duvall married to Margaret de Orbin as a possible father of Thomas though instead. According to "Maryland Heraldic Families 1634/1635", Mareen is the son of Massasoit and Margaret Orbin, grandson of Massiott Duvall, and gr. grandson of Wm. DuVall and Alexine Marmusin. ²
