There is a possibility that this John is a grandson or gr. grandson of William Gifford married to Eleanor Paulet (d. of John Paulet and Alice) in Aberfeilde, Berkshire, England. Their son John Henry was born about 1502. John (Henry) had a son John in 1522, a son Richard in 1530 and a son George in 1532. These children were all born in Hampshire, England. (C-1564)
