  This Benjamin's birth date comes from a Genealogy blank prepared by the Ohio Dep. of Vital Records in 1962 for Annie Coppock Kransdorf's mother. They supposedly used vital records and published biographies for most of their information. It gives his birth date as Jul 18, 1817 and Sep. 17, 1890 for his death date. However, his death date differs in other sources. He is likely the Benjamin Coppock who was committed to the State Mental Institution for Insanity after having suffered a mental disorder for two years that started with being unable to sleep and grew into a state where family members stated that they feared that he was not safe to himself or others. There is a series of letters and documents that can be studied about his case in the Miami County Court House Probate section filed on Mar. 19, 1850, Case #1840, B-154. One of the documents filed by his doctor stated that it was not Epilepsy although several family members were diagnosed with Epilepsy.
