Death:  1845 at age 27 in Coosa (now Elmore) County, Alabama
Burial:  Coats Wall Cemetery in Wetumpka, Elmore County, Alabama

Civil War Service:  Co I. 3rd Ala. Volunteers Wetumpka Light Guards
Nat. A. Coats is listed on the 1880 census in Brazos County, Texas with
his wife, Mary and two children.
His wife left him after their 6th child was born and went to Nacogdoches,
Texas to live with a family with the surname of PLEASANT.  She went to
Galveston in 1900 for some kind of supplies and perished in the
hurricane.   My husband's brother told us that Nat A. Coats changed his
name to Clarence Coates and was nicknamed "Coon".
